Looks like that, following the events about VdT new regulations the Council has reached the point of giving us notice bout the detailed plans for VdT which seem to be available for public discussion:

http://www.cm-aljezur.pt/portal_autarquico/aljezur/v_pt-PT/menu_municipe/consultas_em_rede/planos_pormenor_vale_telha/

I gave a rapid (too rapid) look to the documents and no detailed information was there, as for instance what to do about all the council land in VdT etc, but, unless I understood wrong that information should be available (by law) to public consultation now in the Council. There will be a period (60 days ??) where the residents can give their opinion.

The official public communication is here:

http://www.cm-aljezur.pt/NR/rdonlyres/174682D8-3640-4555-836E-07BF2FEAEB66/0/PPSVALEDATELHAAVISO.pdf

Once again i would urge residents to BE INVOLVED (AMOVATE obviously as well) in this endeavor that will likely affect the value of our properties and our quality of life (and I am not talking about mains drainage yes or no, forget that).

VdT has been divided in 4 areas (PP1 to PP4) for planning purposes.

Regards to all and please show the council we are concerned about what they are planning in our lovely place!!

Thanks, you would hope a translated version would be issued by the Council being that so many non Portuguese speaking people own properties in VDT.

I have been through the documents and all seem rather vague with a lot of lawyers lingo.

Residents have 15 days to give their input after the publication of the fisrt document in the official gov. dairy (diário da republica) which may have or may have not ocurred yet.

I am concerned about the several references in the document about the so called "equipments" to be set up in the area. What equipments? A shop in front of your villa, an Hotel?

Just when all you folks out there were getting excited. A report in the Regiao Sul:

Development plan for the Natural Park Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina suspended for another year

The Council of Ministers approved today a resolution extending for one year, the duration of action and the suspension of the development plan for the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina.

The resolution guarantees "the inviolability of the conditions necessary to protect the natural values that led to the creation of protected area in question."

Extending by one year the duration of action and the suspension of the development plan for the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina established by resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 19/2008 of 4 February.

Thus, it is guaranteed to "maintain the urban framework for the conclusion of the review procedure is still ongoing, the development plan for the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina".

The plan in question "to promote the environmental rehabilitation of areas on which there are preventive measures now extended and protection of environmental values existing in those areas."

The Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast stretches from the river Junqueira, San Torpes, and the beach of Burgau in the Algarve, including the Municipalities of Sines, Beja, Aljezur and Vila do Bispo.

Obviously, this is a much wider issue than the plans put forward by the Aljezur Camara for VDT, but may well have a bearing on any implementation.

Regards

Leo

(Likewise I am doing copy-paste from the other popular VdT forum, sorry if you have already read)

The one-year postponing simply means that more time is required for the planning which is actually taking place as we speak.

Two days ago (27 January) was published in the governement diary (diário da república) the final layout for the VdT planning. Now owners have legally 15 days to have a say about what they think should be none (or not) in VdT. I called the Aljezur Council yesterday and I been told by the architect that they are ACTUALLY waiting for VdT owners proposals which ideally should be sent by letter signed by one or more then one owners.

What are we waiting for? Some news report pubished somewhere saying we are ok, we shouldn´t worry? At the moment the council is the place to read, to look, to listen and to talk to. Lets do it. Is AMOVATE having any trouble interacting with the Council? Lets put democracy in action

Amovate President Peter Johnson, General Assembly President Ian Bedford and committee member Maria França from Confronto have just had a meeting with senior Camara officials at the Old Schoolhouse lasting more than two hours to discuss many of the ongoing issues.

We are currently going through the notes and a report will be posted on the Amovate website after the weekend: http://www.amovate.org/

Sorry for the links in my above post, which are not working:

Below is the council link with 6 documents, the first 2 are the public consultation requests (1 from the coucil other is the complte document from central governement)

The last 4 documents concern the areas that the VdT has been devided: PP1, PP2, PP3 and PP4.

We dont have to read all the "lawyer-guese" in there, basically we have to do a small document signed by as many as possible, stating something consensual. I am concerned about the "equipments" to be installed in VdT which is refered often in the documents. A mobile-phone pole anteanna right in front of your villa? An humming electric power transformmer ? My humble sugestion is for us to draft a documents in the lines "we would like that all the non-privately land in VdT should remain in its natural state thus contributing for the animal and plants conservation in the Natural Park....". We are running out of time here... and dont forget the the officials tend to value something writen and signed...its the way it is here...Please participate with your ideas.

There is no mention of this issue in the notes of the meeting that was held on 26th January 2010 between Amovate representatives and Camara officials. Can we therefore assume that this matter was not raised?

I'm sorry if you did not see my reply on another post but I have copied it below.

Since I posted that I have e-mailed the Camara again and still await a reply

imcb

Droidcam

Your quite right this was not discussed at our meeting but as we were leaving it was mentioned that we should look at the plans.

I have read some of the documentation and have asked the Camara by e-mail if they could organise for Camara staff to attend Amovate and give a presentation to its members.

I am awaiting a reply and will be chasing it again on Monday

If you read the documents, what the Câmara needs now are suggestions of the residents and VdT owners as to what they feel should be done in VdT in the light of the current planning.

The legal name for it is Public Consultation (Consulta Pública). The Câmara is not supposed to give presentations, or, for that matter, disclose any plans they may have. At least not in this stage.

Under the public consultation act, anyone is free to adress the Câmara and say they want a rocket launching pad in VdT, a ball-dance saloon or a shooting range place. it is our shot!!

Since reading the documents I found a bit disturbing the repeated occurrence of the word "equipements" to be installed in VdT, and knowing all the "council land" vacant in VdT, I took the initiative to put up a petition asking the Council to leave that land alone, as sanctuary for the protect animals and plants. I am being a demagogic? I don´t think so, but that is not important here.

If you agree with this please sign the petition below. We are running out of time.

Regards
